Reaping Air Rewards With American Express Blue Sky

By Cornelius Nunev

Try the American Express Blue Sky charge card! It beats frequent flyer cards cold, in that it has a rewards plan that escapes many restrictions.

Points depending on dollars spent

The American Express Blue Sky Preferred charge card is nice for a number of people because it earns 1.33 cents for every dollar spent. That is increased to 2.66 cents at restaurants, hotels or automobile rentals.

With the American Express Blue Sky card, you can get $100 statement credit towards travel expenses after getting 7,500 extra points on the card. The first 15,000 points are given to the cardholder after spending 1,000 in the first three months. A sign-up bonus of $200 is basically given to the consumer since each point is worth 1.33 or 2.66 cents.

Cash received

On brand new purchases with the AMEX Blue Sky Preferred card, customers can get 12 months of no interest. Then, after that, it changes to vary between 17.24 percent and 22.24 percent, according to WiseBread. This all depends on the user's credit score.

AMEX also provides an annual airline allows up to $100 that will go towards things like in-flight food, baggage charges and more. It also comes with travel accident insurance.

If a retailer will not take back a purchased item within 90 days, American Express will reimburse cardholders up to $300 per item, with an annual cap of $1,000. American Express Blue Sky also provides extended warranty protection, stretching the company's warranty up to one year.

Try it out yourself

Blue Sky can be worth your time if you travel a lot, though it does require a $75 yearly fee and a 2.7 percent fee on foreign transactions.
