Vietnamese Holiday:The Holiday View Hotel

By John Roney

Why take a bicycle tour in Vietnam? A bicycle tour of Vietnam will allow you to see the fantastic country side at your own pace. Even if you're with a group most days are planned so that you have an adequate amount of time to sight see. Single travelers on bicycles are not that unusual. Self guided tours planned by small groups are a great way to travel and a real bargain. Take your pick - travel in with a group or solo / organized or self guided, a well planned trip will be well worth your time.

When Vietnam's history is brought to conversation, the first thought that comes to mind is 'war.' In the 19th century France's colonization sought to establish a presence and rule on Vietnam. Several years later, after World War II, Vietnam fought back to rid French occupation and lunched the start of what would be remembered as the longest war ever fought. When the struggle emerged in 1959 (lasting to 1975) it claimed more than 2.5 million lives and was one of the bloodiest wars fought.

There's a style for every type of bicycle tourist. Organized tours attract a lot of participants. Many of these Vietnamese Holiday are fairly expensive. They provide support vehicles, meals, hotels, domestic transportation, mountain or touring bike (if needed) and other amenities for those on tour. Historic and cultural sightseeing excursions may be included. These tours start at about $1500 for 14 or 15 days. Airfare included from the west coast US start about $3000. Shop carefully! A self guided bicycle tour including international airfare from the west coast of the US can be had for the same price as a group land tour. $1000 for airfare and $25 to $30 a day for a self guided tour can be easily worked out. Planning a trip like this is half the fun. Find a good guide book and you're on your way!

The Vietnamese Holiday View Hotel is also a wonderful place to organize meetings and conferences. There are two well-equipped meeting rooms on 13th floor: one can hold up to 200 people and another can seat about 30. Certainly, these are absolutely suitable for your various meetings, conferences, banquets or special events.

Hanoi - Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and the 2nd largest city which shares a unique blend of East and West. Centuries of Chinese dominance and French architecture from its past colonization have played a vital part of what is now modern Hanoi. Tourists will find it to encompass an impressive array of museums of Vietnam's history, magnificent pagodas, temples and even remnants of wartime sights. Hanoi is sure to please and makes it worth visiting Vietnamese Holiday.
