Have a relaxing Time At The Eumundi Markets Queensland

By Anton Maverick

The tiny town of Eumundi is located in the Sunlight Coast hinterland, inland from Noosa and is easy to reach from anywhere on the coast with Campervan Hire Brisbane. It is perhaps famous for it's market which is classic across the area, as well further afield, with numerous stall holders and visitors coming from Brisbane for a taste of a consequential hinterland town.

Eumundi is a standard historic city complete with really wide and shady streets. In fact , the large trees are figs and have been heritage listed, many visitors going to Eumundi simply to see them. You can sponge up the ambience with the historic buildings before venturing down to the markets.

While the markets are actually the primary feature (on a Sat. anyway), there also are six lovely art galleries to visit. There's some striking Aboriginal art in the galleries and also a good selection of contemporary artwork. If you like stained glass you will find lots to enjoy for a while. One of the special treats which you'll seldom see in Australia, is hot glass art, but you will fortunately not miss out at Eumundi.

Local artists also feature their work in the galleries and are also available in the market itself. When you're worn out from taking a look at pretty things, including boutique shopping, you may also visit the chocolate factory and sample some of the fine creations there alongside watching them being specially made in front of you.

Enjoy relaxing over lunch at one of the many cafes and diners or you could always try the classic pub. It is also worth dropping in at the Visitor Centre as there is a lot of info there about the historic buildings in the city in addition to the early history of Eumundi. Many people have such a great time, that they choose to stay the night also.
